April Novak, a teacher from Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin, has been charged with sexual assault.
Novak, 30, faces 12 felony counts of sexual assault of a student by school staff. Police accuse her of engaging in sexual intercourse and oral sex with a 16 year old male student.
She worked as a reading specialist at Menomonee Falls High School. According to her profile on the school’s website (now removed), Novak received a Bachelor of Science in Education degree in 2008 from Marian University. She also earned a Master of Science in Education-Reading from Concordia University Mequon in 2012.
According to the criminal complaint, a teacher at the school reported seeing the student and teacher embracing “with a possible kiss occurring” in her classroom on December 11.
Police say Novak told them that she and the student had sex 12 times in her classroom between October and December of 2015.
She claims that the two of them had romantic feelings for each other.
Her husband has filed documents requesting an annulment/legal separation as of Monday.
