Republican presidential candidate Jeb Bush has called on America to “create a small recession” in his latest campaign statement. Bush remarked, “Let’s disrupt Washington & create a small recession inside D.C. so we can have economic prosperity outside of Washington.”
In addition to saying he would have invaded Iraq knowing what we know now and describing a mass shooting at a school as “stuff” that happens, the ailing campaign of the former Florida governor has made one weird remark after another, as his polling has continued to collapse.
Both Jeb Bush’s brother, George W. Bush, and his father, George H.W. Bush, had presidencies that were also marked by recessions in the American economy.
Under his brother, the ailing U.S. economy reached 10% unemployment — a number that is at 5.5% now under his successor, Barack Obama.
.@JebBush: Let’s disrupt Washington & create a small recession inside D.C. so we can have economic prosperity outside of Washington.
