The U.S. government has announced it is spending $500,000 in order to fight Russian propaganda.

In Lithuania, the United States Embassy in Vilnius announced a fund to train journalists in Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia, with the goal of combatting Russian propaganda.

The money will go towards training sessions and journalism workshops in those nations.

The Russian government has deployed its satellite television network, RT (formerly Russia Today), which produces pro-Russian propaganda in multiple languages around the world. The network has pushed the pro-Putin message on issues like Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and support for the oppressive Syrian regime.
