Melinda Trezise, a teacher from Cressona, Pennsylvania, has been accused of having sex with one of her students.
She taught in the North Schuylkill School District.
Trezise (aka Mindy Trezise) has been charged with statutory sexual assault, institutional sexual assault and related offenses. Her student, 13, told police they had sex at least a dozen times in her home.
Police say she left a note with her 6th grade class saying, “I love my daughters more than life itself. I love my husband and I love my family . My mistakes have been many since December. I need help — a lot of help. I’m seeing how broken I am and I need help.”
Her lawyer denied the charges. Trezise resigned from the school in April.
The reported relationship was exposed when Trezise was involved in a car accident and the boy fled the scene.
North Schuylkill School District Superintendent Dr. Robert Ackell released a statement: “The North Schuylkilll School District is aware of the charges filed against Melinda Trezise. Upon first learning of the allegations regarding Mrs. Trezise, district officials took prompt action to maintain the safety and welfare of our students. The District reported the allegations to law enforcement officials and Childline. Mrs. Trezise was also suspended pending the outcome of the investigation before her decision to resign. The District has cooperated fully throughout the criminal investigation and will continue to cooperate with law enforcement officials. The safety and welfare of all students is our top priority. We will continue to monitor this matter closely and will take any and all additional steps necessary to keep our students safe.”
